A historic and monumental event occurred in Queensland last Friday. We finally got our own SEPHORA! Okay, Okay I might’ve exaggerated that a little, but to a makeup junkie the opening of the first SEPHORA in the state is everything we’ve ever dreamed of!
Launch day of course was packed, so I stayed well away and decided to head down the following Monday on my day off. The new store is located in Pacific Pines shopping centre and is absolutely massive! The minute I walked in, I entered makeup heaven. I have been to a few Sephora’s in America, so I knew the layout and what brands where there. The Queensland store is very easy to navigate and has plenty of room to wander. Each brand has a stand to itself and plenty of testers to try, hooray!
Unfortunately, they had completely run out of sample pots so I couldn’t grab any foundation testers that I was interested to try but that was understandable due to such a huge launch. That just gives me another excuse to go back! Everything I wanted they had in stock and there were plenty of lovely assistants to help me find what I was after and help me out with information and ideas.
I was very well behaved when it came to my spending, as I literally could’ve spent HUNDREDS but I have other exciting things I want to use my money for so I set myself a budget. It was very hard to not pick up everything, but I’m glad I got the products I did. I already love them!
Here is what I picked up and my first thoughts as I haven’t used any of these goodies yet!

Tarteist Lip Contour Set
The lip paint is a thick mousse formula so I’m interested to see how this wears. The lip liner unfortunately is insanely dry and actually hurt to draw on my hand. I’m hoping if I snap the top bit off it’ll be better underneath.
Kat Von D Lip Vixen Duo – Lipstick in shade Noble and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw
I own one of the studded lipsticks already and I love the formula. Incredibly long wearing and insanely matte. This shade is really light so it’ll be perfect to add a coloured gloss on top to make them opaque.
The liquid lipstick though is the most AMAZING and true red I have ever come across. It is so stunning! I can not WAIT to wear this shade. I’m already in love!
Beauty Blender Blusher Sponge
This sponge is less that half the size of the regular pink beauty blender and is marketed to be used for cream blush. I picked this one up as I had my eye on the mini green ones for concealer but they looked way too small so I decided on this one. I’m going to try using it under my eyes and for cream contour. I’ll be sure to review this!
Benefit Dandelion Blush
This blush is a gorgeous light pink shimmery shade which I think will be a gorgeous subtle flush to the cheeks. I can’t wait to try this!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I finally got my hands on this cult favourite bronzer. It is the perfect deep golden bronze shade that I love in a bronzer without throwing too much orange. I can not wait to use this; I just know I’ll love it!
Benefit Roller Lash
I absolutely adore the They’re Real mascara and have heard many amazing reviews about this mascara so of course, I need to try it. The brush looks similar to the Maybelline Lash Sensational one which I like so I hope I love it!
Tarte Tartelette Tease Palette
Tarte has amazing quality shadows and shade range, so I couldn't resist but picking this palette up. This palette has six gorgeous shadows which I can’t wait to try out. Plus it's the perfect travel size!
Sephora Rouge Infusion in shade 19 Peony
This gloss is a stunning shade for natural lip wear or can be combined with another lipstick for an ultra glossy look. The formula is sheer and not sticky at all. I’m interested to see how it looks on the lips.
Lastly, I was gifted with some samples that are always exciting to try. I was given some Beuatly Blender Liquid Cleanser, Clinque powder foundation and the new Burberry illuminating primer. I’m interested to see if the liquid cleanser gets all the stains out!
Overall, I had a great time at the new SEPHORA and I can not wait to try all my new products. If you’d like to see a review or swatches on any of these goodies, just let me know!
I hope you all get a chance to check out SEPHORA, I’d love to know what you picked up too in the comments.
