There is nothing more satisfying in life than having soft, clean, healthy looking skin. Sometimes we need the help of a cleansing product to help us achieve that look. In Winter my skin always gets dry and flaky, leaving my face looking dull and applying foundation a nightmare! Exfoliating cleansers aren't good or recommended to use on your skin everyday as they are quite harsh, so I did some research to see what I could use to help budge the dreaded dry skin.
I have used exfoliating sponges in conjuction with my facial cleansers before although they don't always seem to remove all the dry skin. They do an excellent job at cleansing the face which is why they are my best friend during the warmer months.
I've heard many great things about cleaning brushes but I struggled to justify spending over $100 on a decent quality cleansing brush. Whilst wondering around Priceline one day, I managed to stumble across a cleansing brush by Olay for a much more reasonable price of $29.95, how could I say no that?
First of all, this brush feels AMAZING on the skin and doesn't feel harsh or damaging at all. It did a fantastic job of removing all the dead skin and any leftover makeup that I had left behind after using my Micellar Water. I continued to use this product over the next couple of weeks when I began to notice a change in my skin.
My skin did look and feel glowing and soft although I noticed that I had started to break out. At first I thought that it may be due to the brush bringing all the nasties in my skin out, which I read does happen. With that in mind, I kept using the brush as normal and but I noticed that the break outs where multiplying. My skin doesn't break out in blemishes ever (unless hormonal), so this was really strange for me.
I decided to stop using it for a week and see what happened. To my surprise my skin cleared up with not one spot in sight. I was still confused how this happened, and then it clicked. Bacteria!
After each use I was rinsing the brush using an antiseptic wash and leaving it out to dry. The wash would've been killing the germs, although as the brush was wet and exposed whilst drying, the germs could've reformed on and within the bristles. Unfortunately my brush didn't come with a cap, so I have no way of protecting it from this. If you have any ideas, let me know in the comments!

Product Summary
Product: Olay Facial Cleansing Brush
RRP: $29.95 (AUD)
Uses: Face and Neck Cleansing Tool
Design: Pink and grey, lightweight device, with a tapered handle for a better grip. The brush has an interchangeable head and two speeds to choose from.
Feel: The device fits perfectly in my hand with feeling heavy or chunky. The brush bristles are soft and kind to the skin.
Pros: Soft brush, design, and how the brush leaves the skin looking after each wash.
Cons: No cap to protect device from bacteria.
Final Thoughts: I do really enjoy using this product and continue to use it every now and again to assist with the removal of fake tan, or a full face of long wearing makeup. I wish the device had a cap or a way of protecting the bristles from bacteria. Apart from that, I recommend trying this brush out as an alternative to other cleansing brushes if your low on funds or just after something basic that gets the job done!
If you have given this product a go I'd love to hear your thoughts and how it went for you!
