Lush Review!

Whenever I think of Lush I instantly think of the delicious smelling shop, all natural products and affordable prices. Lush has a great reputation of producing all natural, vegan and vegetarian products that are tailored to nourish and care for our face, body and hair. They also have a stunning range of cosmetics that are also derived from all natural products. As someone with very sensitive skin, Lush has always been a go to of mine.

A few weeks ago I was invited to the Bloggers United AU first birthday party held at Lush in Brisbane. (Check out my post about that event here) I was gifted a couple of cult products and picked up a few more too. I have been reviewing these products over the last couple of weeks. Here are my thoughts!

Rockstar Bar Soap (Pink) – This soap bar smells AHH-mazing! I can not get enough of the scent, to me it smells like a mix of candy, bubble-gum and heaven. The soap lathers up to a thicker consistency when wet and I felt I didn’t use too much to wash my whole body. One downside I had with this soap was that it left my skin feeling really dry once I was out of the shower. I know this isn’t a huge deal and a thin coat of moisturiser can fix this, I’m just lazy when it comes to apply moisturiser to my body. However, I will always use this soap, it smells way too good not to!

The Great Barrier – I have mixed feelings about this one. I’m not a fan of the smell, although that's not a huge issue for me. A little goes a long way with this soap but I found it didn’t lather up well. I found it was best to break off a cube into my hand, and rub it into my skin this way. The soap left a thick, oily residue on my skin which I did not enjoy. I followed the instructions and washed off the remaining soap although nothing really came off. I ended up using body wash to break down the oily residue so it wasn’t as thick and sticky on my skin. This didn’t take it all off and once I dried myself, my skin felt so smooth and nourished. I’ll do this method each time I use this product as I loved the end result, I’m just not a fan of oily, sticky feeling skin. This product is perfect for dry, winter skin so I'll be getting a lot of use out of this one!

Aqua Marina Facial Cleanser – When the lady helped me choose this product, she tested it on my hand and it

felt, smelt and left my skin feeling gorgeous. I couldn't wait until I got home to dive into this product and wash my face! I did the ultimate test and used it directly on top of my full face of makeup to see if it washed it off, unfortunately it was highly unsuccessful. I used a makeup remover then tried it again on clean skin. It completely removed the leftover makeup and left my skin feeling and looking amazing. Then it happened... I broke out! I did not expect this to happen with a Lush product as they are all natural and it's never happened before. My face went hot and red, then broke out in little red bumps which hurt to touch. I did give it a couple of chances over the next few nights in the hope my skin got used to it and that it may have been a one off but unfortunately it was a no go. I was so sad that I had to pass this on to a friend. I think the issue was the seaweed. I do have quite sensitive skin,

so if your skin isn’t sensitive you will LOVE this!

All Good Things Solid Perfume – Unfortunately this one wasn't one of my favourites. The balm has a great consistency and has great longevity with retaining the scent all day long on the skin. I know that sounds like a great review but the con for me was the scent. I really do not like the scent. It reminds me of the smell that is left on your clothes after sitting around a bon fire mixed with a musty old scent. I prefer floral, fruity perfumes so I won’t be getting any wear out of this one. I do really like the formula though so I’d love to see what other scents there are in the range.

Overall, these products where lovely to use and I love how natural they are. Despite my face not reacting well, doesn't mean that it will for you and I do recommend these products. Sensitive skin sucks sometimes!

There are so many more products that I'd love to try, especially the bath bombs they smell so delicious. Let me know in the comments your favourite product that I should try!

Thanks so much for reading!
