Bloggers United 1st Birthday Event at Lush!
Last night I had the pleasure of attending Bloggers United 1st Birthday which was celebrated and hosted by Lush in Brisbane. The girls at Lush did a fantastic job at making sure we were all catered for with nibbles and drinks, enjoying ourselves and providing us with information about the natural ingredients that go into their gorgeous products.
The night kicked off with mingling, having a bite to eat, exploring the products and of course taking photos, we are bloggers after all! Once we had a chance to fall in love with everything, we were then educated on the amazing natural ingredients that go into all Lush's products and how each of the ingredients benefit our skin, hair and body. Safe to say, I was truly impressed as I wasn't aware how amazing and nurturing these ingredients are!
Did you know that?...
- Avocados are not only great on toast but they are rich in unsaturated oil that nourishes dry or unruly hair and rehydrates dry, cracked and ageing skin!
- Honey is an antibacterial and antiseptic substance that is highly nourishing and protective to the skin by helping it to retain moisture.
- Roses not only add natural colouring and fragrance to their products, they are also known for their toning and soothing effects on the skin especially in masks and moisturisers.
- Bananas are highly moisturising and is used in both hair and skin products to leave the hair and skin moisturised, soft and manageable.
- Eggs we all know are high in protein and are extremely good for our inner health, but they are also great for strengthening the hair, adding shine and helps with new hair growth!
Next, it was time for a game to get to explore and know the products a little better. We were paired up and sent on a scavenger hunt to locate products that had one or a combination of discussed ingredients in them. Not going to lie this got a little tricky and competitive quite fast! It was interesting to see the type of products these ingredients are in and the amount of fresh and natural ingredients that are in all of Lush's products. One of the great things about Lush's products is that majority are Vegan friendly and only a few, which are the ones that contain eggs, are Vegetarian!
At the end of the night we were spoilt by Lush as they gave each of us a free product of our choice and a goodie bag with a solid perfume and The Great Barrier solid hydrating wash to take home. I couldn't help myself and purchased a block of the Rockstar soap, which smells like bubblegum, YUM! The Lush girls where a HUGE help as I helplessly tried to decide what product to chose as I have quite sensitive and red skin. After much consideration and experimenting I decided on the Aqua Marina facial wash which contains Calamine and Aloe Vera, perfect for soothing, moisturising and nourishing my delicate skin.
Last night was an amazing way to celebrate Bloggers United 1st birthday! I know I had an absolute blast and it was great to have the opportunity to catch up with other bloggers and put faces to those Instagram usernames!
