May Bellabox!
A new month means a new, Bellabox! This is the second month I have been subscribed to the beauty/haircare/skincare box service and every time I open it up I love what I see. This month featured majority of skincare products and one lipstick from Karen Murrell which is a stunning red-orange shade. I always get quite nervous when receiving and trying new skincare, as I have sensitive skin which breaks out and reacts to products quite easily.
This months contents included:
Palmers Cocoa Butter Perfecting Facial Oil
I've used a few products from this brand before so I knew my skin would be safe, and that it was! I tested this oil out one night after washing my face when I noticed my skin was quite dry. I applied a very thin layer to the dry areas, slept with it on and washed the remnants off the next morning. My skin felt oily in the t zone although once washed off it felt so smooth and hydrated!
Dermae Purifying Charcoal Mask
I was very skeptical about trying this product as I have used a charcoal mask before and completely broke out in a red, painful rash. I was that nervous that I used a section of my boyfriends face as the test subject to make sure! He never complained so I gave it a try and applied it to my whole face. All or nothing right? This mask has little exfoliating beads in it, as when you wash it off you wet the mask to reactivate the charcoal and rub it circular motions to exfoliate your face, genius! Once the mask was set, exfoliated and washed off, my face felt and look amazing! I have used in again since and safe to say I'm in love.
TIP - Word of advice, don't use this mask the night before an event as it drew out some imperfections on my face.
Burts Bees Lip Balm
I've heard many wonderful words spoken of Burts Bees, so I was quite pleased to see a lip balm from their brand in my May box. The formula is smooth and hydrating and stays on the lips for a while and doesn't soak in instantly like some cheap and nasty ones seem to. I enjoy using this to prep my lips before lip products as it's not thick and greasy. Only downside to this is I hate the flavour I was given - Pink Grapefruit, ugh!
Karen Murrell Lipstick
The shade of this lipstick is incredible and I'll definitely get some wear out of it in the Summer time. The formula is quite moisturising and smooth which applies to the lips like a dream. As for longevity, once my sandwich was consumed I had only a small amount remaining around the perimeters of my lips, so I wouldn't recommend wearing it to a dinner date!
Aromatherapy Skin Care Essentials Reviving Oxy Pack
I'm yet to give this product a try! If you have used it let me know your thoughts. It says it's an overnight formula although I'm unsure how my skin will go.
Avon Skincare Samples
Unfortunately I will not be using these samples as I have broken out from every Avon product I have used so am going to give these on to my Mum or a friend to utilise! No waste!
