Current Obsession: The Kylie Lip Kit!
I never thought I could love a product this much in my life...
The hype that was created about these products was insane. Well, anything that the Kardashians do, is always insanely hyped about. So when Kylie Jenner decided to release a makeup line, it was sure to create a stir.
As a makeup lover and collector, I planned to get my hands on these for collecting purposes as I simply expected them to be just like every other matte liquid lipstick on the market. Boy was I wrong!
After many missed attempts at trying to purchase these lipsticks, due to different timezones, secret releases and simply missing out, I finally had success! I battled with every other makeup lover and scored myself these three beauties.
Lets begin with the obvious: The Packaging.
The liquid lipsticks and matching lip liners are packaged in a gorgeous box together with a pair of lips dripping in the colour of the lipstick inside and the colours name on the top. I'm that in love with the art on these boxes that I have them on display in my room!
The strawberries and cream scented product comes in a long tube with a doe foot applicator, which is decorated with the signature dripping pattern and Kylie's name. The packaging is not only stunning, but it is quite sturdy, so will be secure in your handbag or during travel. Score!
Currently, Kylie has eight matte shades and has recently released three gloss shades. I purchased three matte shades as shown (L-R) KoKo K, 22 and Posie K.
KoKo K, named after Khloe Kardashian, is a light pink/nude shade which is perfect for everyday wear or paired with a dark smokey eye, classic Khloe K style. 22 is my ride or die shade. I am that in love with this colour that I want to buy back ups to last me the rest of my life! It is a beautiful burnt orange shade, that looks great worn casual or dressed up. I love wearing this on days I feel in-between casual and bold. Who am I kidding I wear this all the time! And, the last shade is Posie K, a mid-tone pink shade that literally goes with everything. Perfect!
I am beyond happy with my choice of colours as they are beautifully unique and are incredibly opaque and non drying on the lips. The accompanying lip liners are identical to the lipsticks and are the BEST lip liners I have ever used. They are smooth and also very opaque. I use them with any lipstick!
Pictured are swatches on my arm of the colours as true to life as possible. The small symbols show the colour of the lip liners and the large show the liquid lipsticks.
Not only are these packaged beautifully and look stunning, they also last all day! I have worn these multiple times to coffee dates, lunch and so on, and these look as good as new after eating, drinking and everyday wear. They are that long wearing that I use pure coconut oil to get them off as makeup remover isn't strong enough!! The lip liners create the perfect sculpted outline to aid in the application of the liquid lipsticks and they too, have phenomenal longevity.
The only con that I can think of for these products is the availability, as the site is always sold out of stock. To find out when releases are, you have to be following Kylie's social media sites or have her app downloaded for updates, which is hard when you aren't on your phone all day like Kylie!
