I'm A Sucker For Gorgeous Packaging!
I am a sucker for amazing product packing. Sometimes I'll just buy a product because the packaging is amazing even if I never use the product. I know I know, buying things just for packaging is silly but sometimes I just can't help myself! One of those times where I bought something for the packaging was the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick which I picked up the shade La Femme. The packaging really reflects Kat Von D's style and is definitely unique!
The casing of the lipstick is a black cylinder coated with studs and has Kat Von D's initials on the top of the tube. The size of the lipstick is wider and shoter than the average lipstick case meaning it doesn't fit it my lipstick stand which isn't exactly a huge issue. I LOVE the design which reads 'KVD' that is written into the lipstick. It makes me not want to use the lipstick because I don't to ruin the design. The design is definitely a unique idea although it's a shame to ruin the design.
The lipstick itself is great, it lasts for hours through eating, drinking and of course kissing although it does transfer! The lipstick has a very matte formula which is a little drying, so be sure to put a little lipbalm on before applying it. It does make a difference.
However, as much as I love the lipstick, the packaging and the design on the lipstick, I do unfortunately have a con about the product. The amount that comes in the tube is a lot less than every other lipstick I own. Yes, I actually went and compared it to my other lipsticks. I never usually notice how much lipstick is in a tube but when I saw the design on the lipstick I twisted it all the way up so I could see the design only to realise that there is barely any lipstick! Here is a comparison so you can see for yourself! Note: I have only ever used the lipstick once.
